Your Friendly Neighborhood Tai Chi Instructor...
Hi, I’m David. I moved to Lambertville in spring of 2022, and I am excited to offer Tai Chi classes in our community.
We mainly practice the Cheng Man Ching Yang style 37-posture short form. We also do Qigong, balance work, and form isolation exercises. My goal is to create a healthy spot where locals and near-locals can learn and practice this amazing art together.
I started practicing Tai Chi Chuan in the 1990s, and began teaching in 2004. For over a decade I taught Tai Chi, Qigong, and Yoga at gyms, wellness studios, recreation centers, 55+ living communities, and outdoors in the parks.
When COVID hit, I went from being a professional fitness instructor to working at my computer all day, which negatively impacted my mental and physical health. However, a good thing about working from home is that my flexible schedule allows me to regularly take time out to share and play Tai Chi with folks.
I enjoy practicing with people from all walks of life, and I have a lot of experience working with physical limitations and/or health concerns. The most common compliments I receive is that I’m very patient and I explain movements by breaking them down so that they’re understandable and attainable.
Every body is welcome in my classes. Beginners can start anytime. Just show up. Seriously, just come by and say hello. Ask questions. Give it a try. I don’t bite.
